OGT Phoenix Delivers to Tohono O’odham Nation
Orphan Grain Train Phoenix delivered 660 boxes of assorted clothing, bedding, blankets and medical equipment, chairs, a wheelchair ramp and more, to the Tohono O’odham Nation in Sells, AZ, on November 14. The branch rented a 26’ box truck and drove it 2 ½ hours to Sells, AZ. With Sells being in close proximity to the Arizona/Mexican border it was necessary to go through a US Border Patrol checkpoint.
The residents helped unload the truck and then organized the boxes by categories. It made for a fun experience for all. After the truck was unloaded, Arlin, a Sells resident, prepared a delicious lunch for everyone.
During the lunch Arlin shared how the donations will be distributed to the eleven districts within the Tohono O’odham Nation. This is well organized. Many residents will receive the benefit from this delivery.
