High School Youth and Adults Sew Backpacks Side-by-Side
Immanuel Lutheran high school youth in Atkinson, Nebraska learned how to sew with the guidance of experienced seamstresses in their congregation. The goal was two-fold: bring youth and adults together and create much-needed school kits to be shared with Orphan Grain Train recipients.
The first photo shows some of the students who were part of making the kits: Bryer, Brileigh, Ava, Reese, Cale and Camry. (not pictured are Elizabeth and Pavan)
Gynell teaching Ava to sew. Gynell also created the pattern for the bags.
Reese cutting out bags.
Helen brought three sewing machines and taught Pavan and Reese.
Judy Frickel donated all the fabric and helped with sewing.
Thank you, Immanuel Lutheran youth and sewing teachers for coming together for this wonderful project!
