God’s Work Through Volunteers
And now more evidence that God is always up to something. This group has been gathering for at least five years to put together hygiene kits. Using their Thrivent Action Team dollars, they have been able to purchase the materials needed, build the kits and donate them to Orphan Grain Train-Ohio. The kits made at this gathering were packed onto two 24 ‘ trailers, along with quality furniture, household items, bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies. On a very hot and humid Ohio-day, dedicated volunteers working out of OGT in Napoleon filled the two trucks. Volunteers then delivered the items to weather-torn Bee Log Community & Relief Center in Burnsville, NC. Upon their arrival, Burnsville community members were grateful to unload the delivery of needed items. This is a community that has been hit hard by massive flooding, hurricanes and mudslides. They are struggling to rebuild their lives, but as one woman said, ” God has brought this community together through all of this.”
Along the road, there are job trailers. Each of the trailers are painted with inspirational words as if to say, “We are going to survive this.”
