Disaster Relief Efforts for Hurricane Helene

The brutal force of the massive storm in N. Carolina and surrounding states has left unbelievable destruction and death behind.  Hundreds of miles of roads were destroyed along with having no power, running water or cell phone reception in several states.

We are currently working with Fuller Center Disaster Rebuilders, whom we have partnered with in the past with hurricane disaster in St. Charles, LA and the freeze in Houston, Texas.  We are also working with Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Asheville which is a distribution and feeding center for volunteers & families.  See below for list of needed items and delivered shipments of disaster relief food, supplies, water & building materials.

This will be a costly disaster with helping many families, first with basic care needs, food & clean up next with building materials.  If you find it in your heart to help, please click on the button and in the comments put Hurricane Helene.

10-29-2024 – Kent Wilke (Pastor Wilke’s brother) and his wife Carol delivered 30 generators, electrical cords & heaters to Helene victims.  Half of the items went to distribution center in Trade, TN, along the border with NC.  This location is Skateboard Center that is now a warehouse/distribution center, owned by world class skateboarder & snowboarder Ashley Galleher.  OGT also paid two months’ rent for Ashley to help with her business being closed.  The other half of items went to Lansing, NC for families that are impossible reach due to roads washed away.  The generators and supplies were delivered by pack mules owned by Toberer family.   OGT sent $10,000.00 to the Toberer family to help with their expenses with making many deliveries with their mules.
11-4-2024 – OGT purchased a $8,650.00 worth of drywall, compound, screws & insulation from Lowes and was delivered to Camp Linn Haven in Linville, NC.  The building materials will help to repair damaged walls in the cabins engulfed with water.

Thank you OGT supporters for helping with these amazing disaster relief efforts!

Thank you for your prayers and support for the many families and emergency response teams facing these tragedies.
