Central Iowa to Republic of Georgia Container Received with Great Joy

Orphan Grain Train Central Iowa’s container to Republic of Georgia arrived safely and was received with great joy by its recipients. The container held over 300 boxes of linens and blankets, school, teacher, hygiene and layette kits, and clothing for men, women and children. In addition, there were many medical supplies and medical equipment included on this delivery. Thank you, Central Iowa volunteers for all you do to make these shipments happen.
This is a letter that OGT received from the recipient:
“Even during the hot summer days, I continued to actively carry out distributions in villages.
Sadly, many of our villages are becoming increasingly depopulated. Young families are leaving for the big cities, where they can provide their children with better educational opportunities and a chance to develop and build a better future. There are very few employment opportunities for young people in the villages, so those who remain usually return to visit their elderly parents and grandparents, take on temporary or seasonal work, or come back during the summer holidays to spend time with their children and families.
This time, however, I was especially happy and touched to find children in the village I visited, together with their parents. It was wonderful to see the village filled with the joyful presence of children and families.
The photos beautifully capture the warm and cheerful atmosphere of this distribution and the happiness we shared together. Everyone was truly delighted, and I was very happy to see the smiles, gratitude, and joy on their faces.
Moments like these remind me once again how meaningful this work is and how much these small acts of kindness can mean to people and their families.”
With sincere gratitude,
Nato
