The Latest from South Dakota
Thankful is a thought frequently expressed by many of the volunteers at Orphan Grain Train. Here are a few reasons why.
On February 13, 2023, volunteers loaded a fifty-five foot semi-trailer that contained the following;
Nineteen pallets (42 boxes on each pallet) of hygiene kits, medical items, school items, toys, clothing, shoes, kitchen items, homemade diapers (made from t-shits) quilts, blankets and religious materials.
Two pallets of Mercy Meals (36 bags in 33 boxes which equals 14,256 fortified rice meals.)
Thirty-five sleeping mats (made from plastic bags.)
Two walkers, one bike and a guitar.
The entire load was delivered to El Paso, Texas at the Ysleta Lutheran Mission.
With numerous donations from our collection agency we were also able to financially assist Milbank OST, St. Lawrence OST, CASA (Foster children), and Milbank Elementary students. Orphan Grain Train helps locally, within the United States and also internationally.
We gratefully thank all who assist OGT in many different ways. Please keep our collection site in your prayers. We have recently received word that we may need to start buying our packing boxes. The cost of Mercy Meals supplies had gone up as well. Through generous donations and possible fundraising we pledge to continue God’s plan for helping those in need.
