Backpacks, Fellowship, and Helping Hands

Guided by Director of Youth GeriLynn Merriam, the youth of Ascension Lutheran Church in Tucson assembled backpack kits for Orphan Grain Train–Phoenix.
On July 31, six dedicated volunteers made the two-hour drive to our Phoenix warehouse to personally deliver the kits. Not only did they bring the backpacks—they stayed an additional three hours to help sort and box other donations. Before heading home, they joined our regular Phoenix volunteers for a shared lunch and fellowship.
Together, this mighty team packed, inventoried, and shelved 65 boxes of items—ready to bless others in need.
A heartfelt thank you to Ascension–Tucson for your time, talents, and generous spirits!
