Long Time Volunteer Will Be Truly Missed

OGT staff is heartbroken with the passing of John Fehrs, a dedicated Norfolk warehouse volunteer for the past 28 years. If you ever came to the warehouse and saw someone driving the forklift, it was probably John. He was a pro with tight turns and strategically placing pallets. He was committed to helping load shipments and always willing to help wherever needed. He is truly missed by many.
OGT office and Norfolk warehouse will be closed Monday, January 23 from 10:00 to 1:00 for staff and volunteers to attend John’s celebration of life.
Funeral service for John A. Fehrs, 85, of Norfolk will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Rev. Robert Wiest will be officiating the service. Interment will be held at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Belgrade, NE. Visitation will be 2:30 p.m-5:30 p.m., Sunday, also at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 16, V.F.W. Post 1644, and the United States Navy Honor Guard. John passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
