Farmers in New Mexico in Desperate Need of Hay
This is the first of several loads of hay/corn stalks being sent to Las Vegas, New Mexico where over 300,000 plus acres of grasslands and residential land have been burned in the last few weeks. Orphan Grain Train received a call from Julian Weathers, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Las Vegas area. Julian said that because of the fires, the ranchers in the area may have to sell off their cattle just to keep them alive. They have grain, but they desperately need a filler like hay/stalks or alfalfa to keep the cattle alive.
