First Shipment Down Many Many More to Come
On Tuesday October 11th, 2016 Central Iowa Branch volunteers loaded their first international shipment! It was amazing with over 30 volunteers helping along with OGT’s Grant Schmidt, VP of Operations and Paul Brandt, Norfolk warehouse assistant manager to load the shipment for Bible Mission in Kishinev, Moldova. The Central Iowa Branch was established about a year ago in Clemons, IA and this shipment was an inspirational experience for everyone involved. All went well to load 486 boxes of blankets/quilts, 476 boxes of clothing, 112 boxes of hygiene kits, medical equipment, 40 boxes of school kits and school lunch tables. Thank you volunteers for helping with sorting, packing and loading all these wonderful gifts for children and families in Moldova.(9/2016)
OGT’s Central Iowa Branch in Clemons held a Soup Luncheon on Jan. 31. Thanks to Thrivent Action Team grants and individual donations, they were able to pack over 100 School Kits and Hygiene Kits. The luncheon offered four different soups and served about 140 people from all over. The Central Iowa Branch offered tours of their facility and shared about the impact they have had since opening less than a year ago. Everyone had a great time at the luncheon and helping to make kits for those in need.
