Desks Being Put to Good Use
School desks donated from Iowa City Public Schools and shipped by OGT’s Central Iowa Branch arrived to Help For Haiti in Haiti and unloaded. The desks replace long wooden benches with no backs and tables that neither are pained or sanded. 50 of them will be transported to the Lutheran school in Laotchikit and Sandra Koch with HFH will distribute the rest to local schools where needed. Pictured are the recently delivered desks and a school using other donated desks from OGT. These are such blessings to the children and teachers – thank you to our donors and Central Iowa Branch volunteers.

We received this story and photos from Sandra Koch with Help For Haiti of the desks donated by Central Iowa Branch being picked up for schools. Amazing! Sandra wrote
“Sister Mirijam came and picked up her 35 desks for the adult literacy school. It took her two trucks, and then Pastor Walt's brother came in a huge truck that was already totally filled up. We thought ...how are they going to fit 50 desks in the truck....but it is Haiti....and they did. The truck was so high it looked like it would fall over!!”(12/2017)
