South Sudan Shipment Will Help Many

On May 17, a shipment bound for Bor, South Sudan, a village near the Nile River, left the Maryland Branch warehouse in Millersville. After going across the ocean, the 40-foot container will arrive in Mombasa, Kenya, from which it will be trucked to its final destination. Loaded by 11 stalwart volunteers, the container was filled with a variety of humanitarian items—including school supplies, sewing machines and fabric, bicycles, clothing of all sorts, and blankets and quilts. The container also included over 1,300 solar lights. It so happens that Bor has no electric grid and these lights will dramatically provide the ability for the folks in South Sudan to positively alter their living conditions. The country is experiencing extremely difficult hardships and the volunteers of OGT have responded with five shipments to date.
