New Jersey LWML Joins OGT’s Mission

Members of the LWML New Jersey District gathered at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Mountain Lakes on Saturday, February 15th for an Orphan Grain Train orientation and ‘sew-in’.  Leslie Vergallito from King of Kings promoted their first meeting on social media to encourage area participation; 14 women came out to sew, including LWML NJ District President, Susan Harnos. Board member, Rich Gruenhagen, was on hand to talk about MAB. He reported back, “The whirring of sewing machines turned out 36 pillowcase dresses and 5 pair of shorts while I described the ministries of OGT.” The women were enthused to keep sewing and will contact Rich for later delivery to the OGT warehouse. Branch Manager Cliff Kraft commented, “This could be the start of something exciting.” We look forward to a long and happy relationship with our new LWML friends.
