Disaster Relief Aid for Louisiana

Orphan Grain Train is assisting families in Louisiana that had homes destroyed by hurricane Ida.  The destruction from 150 MPH winds and torrential rains is widespread and restoration will be long term.
People of three different Louisiana parishes were the recipients of food, tools, wheel barrels, hygiene items, and cleaning products that arrived in an OGT Logistics’ reefer in Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 11, 2021. Toi Carter, our contact person and orchestrator of the distribution of supplies, said that five different faith-based groups rented moving trucks to haul the supplies. They unloaded the reefer on Saturday in Baton Rouge and then the five groups loaded their rented moving trucks and drove the trucks to individual homes for door-to-door distribution on Sunday. Around 500 households received assistance so far. This is just the start of OGT’s relief supplies and food for families devastated by Hurricane Ida.  Check back here for more information with future loads of supplies and food.
Orphan Grain Train plans to continue to help families repair their homes and their lives.  We will work with congregations to distribute the aid and food along with Scripture and encouragement.  If you would like to contribute to this cause, please click the button below:
