Castle Rock’s tradition is to celebrate each volunteer’s birthday with their choice of treats. Some have ice cream floats, some cakes, some pies and yes even pineapple upside down cake. Here Audrey had fresh “Sticky Buns”, hot sausage & egg. We have this wonderful “chef”, “baker”, Karen who provides all the treats, not only for birthdays but each week. It is a wonderful way to honor each volunteer on their birthday. You ask; Who gets the leftovers’…why it is Harland Glasoe, who landed in France in 1944 and who will be 94 and has not missed a day, come rain or snow, since 2002.
