Appalachia Shipment Blesses Many for Christmas

Volunteers for OGT’s New England Branch, located in Terryville, Ct. loaded a 53 foot container of needed items for Appalachia on Dec. 9, 2019. This shipment included over 50,544 Harvest Pack fortified rice meals along with over 800 pounds of non-perishable canned and boxed food. It also contained clothing, furniture, household items, 4 sewing machines, medical supplies/equipment, beds, toys, bikes, tools, 300 Bibles and over 400 Christmas gifts for families. This shipment went to a charitable organization known as Manna from Heaven in Myra, Kentucky. This Christian organization provides many programs to assist hundreds of families in Appalachia with food, medical supplies and household items to improve their quality of life which has been devastated by the loss of jobs in the coal industry.
