Another Shipment to South Sudan

On Friday, February 7, 2020 the Maryland Branch shipped our ninth 40-container to South Sudan.  This shipment has again targeted the town of Bor, with a population of close to 30,000 people. An unfortunate feature of this area is a very ill-equipped hospital.  Necessarily, a large portion of the humanitarian aid included health equipment and supplies.  In addition to clothing and bicycles, we shipped almost 500 solar lights.  To quote Pastor Stephen, “Solar lights are a real hot cake; as a dark young nation, almost all of the people fear the night.”  In a place where there is 12 hours of darkness year-round, it is easy to understand how unquestionably valuable they are. Our special thanks are extended to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Annapolis, for supporting this effort to provide more light to the world.
