Mid-Atlantic Regional Division Summer 2006 report At 9:00 a.m. on June 8, over thirty hearty souls joined together to pack a shipping container of donated clothes bound for Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Below is a sampling of pictures showing the work that was done.

The best crew in the world! Thank you so much! Spring 2006 The Mid-Atlantic Regional Division has now processed sufficient materials to fill a container for shipment. The majority of materials were collected from local churches. An additional amount of hospital linens were received from a supplier in Georgia through the work of Mrs. Elfie Eberle of the Maryland Regional Division. As soon as Orphan Grain Train’s transportation department can process our request and establish a loading date we will be ready to load for shipping. We thank God not only for the materials which were donated, but also for all of the volunteer help which He supplied from local congregations. We were very pleased with the quantity and quality of help which continues to sort and pack. Our warehouse, which is leased to us at $1.25 per sq. ft., is being looked at for a charter school, and therefore will necessitate a move in the future. The landlord assures us that he has other space which can be made available to us. We continue to ask God’s guidance in this matter. In the meantime we continue to gather, sort and pack. Concordia Lutheran Church in Wilmington, Delaware, had a fund raiser on April 29th called Broadway Bound, which offers a number of Broadway hit tunes and acts. St. John Lutheran in Dover will have a Sour Kraut supper, and Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, Malvern, Pennsylvania, will sponsor its second annual Auction September 24, 2006. We continue to encourage other congregations to become involved with the collection and packing of materials. The Lord continues to watch over us, in spite of our oft times foolish plans and wishes.
