3 Domestic Loads Shipped
In April the Ohio Collection Center delivered three domestic loads. Two shipments went to St. Paul Catholic Church in McKee, KY containing clothing, shoes, cleaning kits, furniture, bikes and medical equipment. The other load went to Harp Mission in Caldwell, OH and the inventory included household items, furniture, bed frame, toys, bikes and sewing items. Thank you volunteers for packing and loading the goods and thank you donors for your contributions.(5/2018)
Helping Those Effected by Flood Waters In Ohio
Ohio Collection Center is helping families affected by flood waters along the Ohio River. OGT’s Ohio volunteers loaded blankets, shoes, clothes, household items, furniture, kitchen items and school supplies for Harp Mission which is assisting flood victims in 17 counties. Please remember the families that have lost their homes and living with uncertainty in your prayers. Thank you Ohio volunteers and donors for your time and assistance.(3/2018)
Making A Difference Here in the U.S.
Ohio Collection Center in Napoleon, OH recently delivered two loads of clothing, shoes, furniture, household items, bicycles, tools, stuffed toys, and hygiene supplies to Harp Mission in Caldwell, OH. They also delivered student desks, hygiene kits and clothing to St. Paul Catholic Church in McKee, KY and household items, stuffed toys, furniture and appliances to Kentucky Mission in Beattyville, KY. HARP Blessed with Donations
HARP Mission in Caldwell, OH is dedicated to serving people who seek self-sufficiency, coming alongside them with spiritual, emotional, and material support as they move towards independence. OGT’s Ohio Collection Center supplied two shipments of goods during October to assist with their outreach program. They were able to donate bedding, clothing, assorted foods, furniture, medical equipment, books and beds to help those that need a hand up. (11/2017)
LYF Stop by to Help
The Ohio Collection Center had some great help from the Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) with St. John's Lutheran church in Stryker, Ohio. The LYR had a servant event assisting with sorting, packing and loading a trailer bound for Caldwell, Ohio for the HARP organization, Helping Appalachian Rural People. Some of the items packed will also help flood victims in N. Carolina and Louisiana. Thank you to the LYR, OGT donors and volunteers that helped our neighbors in need.(11/2016)
Help for Local Services
Last November, the Ohio Collection Center loaded a truck full of bedding, clothes, coats, shoes, household items and toys for the Lutheran Social Services in Columbus, OH. Thank you to those that donated the items and to the volunteers for sorting, packing and loading all the gifts for those in need. (11-2015)
Kentucky Mission Receives a Shipment
Kentucky Mission in Beautiful, KY received a shipment from the Ohio Collection Center on December 20, 2014.. This region has high poverty and unemployment because of the closing of the coal mines. This shipment included 18 boxes of quilts, 147 boxes of clothes and coats, household items, medical equipment, toys, school supplies and sewing machine. What a blessing for the children and families.
Ohio Collection Center ships domestic load
Ohio Collection Center shipped a domestic load to Ft. Wayne, IN on September 22, 2014. The inventory included several boxes of clothing, bed linens and quilts. Thank you to all of the volunteers for sorting and packing this load.
OGT Ohio Location has Fundraiser
In July 2014, Ohio location shipped a load to Kentucky Mission. The inventory included 18 boxes of household items, 123 boxes of men, women and children’s clothing and shoes and 9 boxes of quilts. Thank you to the volunteers for all the sorting, packing and loading of donations.
It was a beautiful day for a Drive Thru Chicken Dinner. OGT Ohio location along with St. Paul Lutheran Church Youth Group in Napoleon, OH had a BBQ ½ Chicken dinners fundraiser for a free will donation. The drive up service was busy the entire time they served. Participants drove up, ordered how many dinners were needed and the youth delivered right to their car. Approximately 300 were served. They also offered beef brisket dinners which served about as many. Pictured are the volunteers and youth group serving dinners.
