Dedicated Branch Manager has Passed Away

Orphan Grain Train is deeply saddened by the passing of Elroy Koch from Kiron, IA. He passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison at the age of 80 years. He was Branch Manager of our Iowa West Branch from 1994-2016. Elroy and his wife Barb were very devoted to the ministry and missions of Orphan Grain Train. Elroy also participated in Operation Hay Lift, where area farmers would donate hay bales, and they’d truck them to Nebraska as drought relief for farmers. Some of the countries that received clothing and medical equipment gathered at the Iowa West warehouse in Ida Grove included Lithuania, Latvia, the Baltics, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Baku, Estonia, Belarus, India and Kenya. Elroy Koch inspired others and along with changes and growth at the Iowa West Branch. He will truly be missed.
