Shipment No. 1,000 Photo Gallery - Page Two

"Shipment 1,000" was loaded into an ordinary shipping container at the Norfolk warehouse.
Orphan Grain Train co-founder Clayton Andrews and shipping secretary Faythe Jaroska pause while giving a tour of the warehouse to Rev. Tim Nickel, his wife Rita, and Mr. Gary Thies of Mapleton, Iowa.
The Nickels will be home in time to see the shipment delivered this fall.
Warehouse volunteer Bill Baker scans in a pallet-load of boxed medical supplies for "Shipment 1,000," which was packed and sent Sept. 7, 2005.
"Shipment 1,000" was packed one box at a time, like most Orphan Grain Train shipments. Here medical supply boxes and hospital bed mattresses are being loaded for Kyrgyzstan.
"Shipment 1,000" completely full and ready to be sealed shut for the journey overseas.

Mrs. Sue Pfeil (at left) hosted the visit of Mrs. Nola and Dr. Gary Treece when they visited Kyrgyzstan in August 2003. They are seen standing in front of the mobile hospital where the supplies of "Shipment 1,000" will be used.
