“Warm Boots for Russia”

The many children in Russian orphanages need boots and shoes all year ‘round. For $15 you can provide both a pair of boots AND and copy of the Holy Bible in Russian. You can help with your donation payable to “Orphan Grain Train” sent to the address at the bottom of this page.

These warm boots and Bibles are purchased and distributed by Orphan Grain Train associates in St. Petersburg, Russia. If you are interested in further supporting the orphanages, please visit our “Adopt an Orphanage” page to learn more.

The following report is from our Orphan Grain Train Director in St. Petersburg, Russia, to Orphan Grain Train New York Division’s Elfie Eberle, during the winter of 2000:

“Dear Elfie,...I have bought already about 200 warm boots, 105 I have already distributed. The next week I’ll drive 80 boots to the orphanage in Siverskaya, Gatchina District, Leningrad Region. The director of that orphanage asked me very much to help them. Six more boots will be given to children from the Crisis Center, 15 more - to the kids from Children Home #51, besides I plan to give some boots to the children from the families with many children, who are really in a big need. Now, as you sent more money, I can plan further purchases and distributions. It’s such a blessing to see happy faces of the children, of children who don’t see much love in their lives. I wish you were with me to met the children, whom you help. It’s so important for them to know that somebody thinks of them, takes care and love.”
