Haiti Earthquake Relief
NORFOLK, Neb. (January 13, 2010) Ophan Grain Train, a Christian humanitarian relief organization headquartered at Norfolk, Nebraska, in cooperation with LCMS World Relief and Human Care announced today that it would ship 513,216 “Kids Against Hunger” meals (two semi-loads) to Haiti in response to the January 12 earthquake. Additional relief shipments are in the planning stage. A semi-load relief shipment was sent to Haiti last month. It arrived last week. Food distributions are intended for all people in need, regardless of church affiliation.
Orphan Grain Train welcomes cash donations to help the destitute survivors in Haiti. Donations of any amount will be appreciated. Checks may be sent to Orphan Grain Train, PO Box 1466, Norfolk, NE 68702-1466. Please write “Haiti” on the memo line. You may also give on-line by credit card. Within moments you will receive an email confirmation of your gift as it arrives in Orphan Grain Train’s bank account.
Orphan Grain Train’s 18 regional divisions share the name and character of Jesus Christ along with humanitarian relief here in America and around the world. Each regional division has volunteers who sort and load donated supplies, clothing, equipment, and other items needed by Orphan Grain Train’s recipients. Orphan Grain Train has shipped more than 1,600 semi-loads of relief supplies for human need to more than 40 countries and 25 U.S. states since 1992.
