Grain Donations
If you are a farmer who would like to help those in need by giving your grain directly to charity, you can do so through Orphan Grain Train.
Please let us know your intentions before you make your donation by calling Richard Jostes, Director of Development to discuss arrangements for accepting your gift. He can be reached Monday through Friday at (402) 371-9547.
When giving grain directly to charity, the gift portion of the grain is not reported as income. However, the costs of production for that grain are tax deductible.
Different rules apply to crop-share landlords.
In all cases, please consult your tax advisor as Orphan Grain Train does not render legal advice.
