Quilts

Thousands of quilts and comforters are shipped to destitute people worldwide each year by Orphan Grain Train. Those who have restarted their lives with quilts and other aid from Orphan Grain Train include:

• Latvians and others in need in the Baltics
• Russian, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz peoples in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
• Flood survivors restarting their lives after the flood of the Red River valley in 1997
• Hurricane survivors in Central America after Hurricane Mitch in 1998
• Tornado survivors after the Oklahoma City tornadoes of May 3, 1999
• Families who lost loved ones in the attacks of September 11, 2001
• Navajo Indians who live at high elevations and endure cold winters on reservations
• Families restarting after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma
