Highlights

Friday evening

Mr. Gary Thies, Mission Developer for LCMS World Mission, will bring a message on the results of Orphan Grain Train’s humanitarian relief efforts in Kyrgyzstan as well as more of God’s work around the world. Thies' travels to more than 60 countries in the past 15 years have given him a "peculiar" perspective of our world. Along the way he finds people who aren’t ordinary. In fact, they’re not “normal” either. But you have to hear it from him to learn the full meaning of what it means to not be “normal.”

Rev. Matthew Harrison of LCMS World Relief and Human Care will report on the continuing Hurricane Katrina relief efforts here in America and emerging opportunities for Orphan Grain Train and LCMS World Relief in Africa.

Saturday

The morning devotion includes a special keynote message by Rev. Ray S. Wilke, Orphan Grain Train president.

Dr. Marvin and Dr. Shirley Bergman - Graying and greening of the church: Implications for Orphan Grain Train.

Mr. Andrew Fitzgerald - Update from Lutheran Hour Ministries about Vietnam Global Care Packages.

Rev. John Reehl has returned from a six-week review of Orphan Grain Train’s projects in Russia, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania and will share an update on prison and orphanage ministries.

Rev. Karl Heimer, Executive Director, Ysleta Mission, El Paso, Texas, will provide helpful information for volunteers who help directly in El Paso and for the Regional Divisions that ship to Ysleta.

Mrs. Cindi Jo Trahms - Hurricane Katrina relief volunteer who has been with 10 groups of volunteers to the Gulf Coast this past year.
